However, I already have a manual.

The garage opener is Allister All Access 3000. Only way to get the remote to work with it is through dip switches.

Furthermore, I tried setting all my dip switches to one side on both the receiver and the remote. No go. Really frustrated and it feels like I must be doing something wrong.

Looking at the instructions for the universal remote I don't see where Allister is listed.

Return any remote entry system that is still using DIP switches and a fixed code.

Rolling code units are far more secure (as in essentially unbreakable codes).
