| My Dad recently passed away and the garage door opener stopped working. A friend replaced the worm drive but now the door will not stop at bottom. It goes down and then goes right back up. I can not find a manual. Does anyone know what this problem is? It is a 1/2 hp chain drive unit. Thanks for your help. |

| Sounds like the door is hitting the floor and the safety senses it has hit something and reverses the door to the open position. Turn the 'down limit' several turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. You will find the 'down limit' on the side of the motor unit and it will take a small screwdriver. It wouldn't hurt to remove the cover and you can see how the limit switch assembly works. |
