Craftsman Garage Door Opener

re 139.53971SRT When trying to program a second remote I held down the SRT button too long and erased the program in the working remote. I then tried to reprogram the original remote by holding the button while pushing and releasing the SRT button. The indicator light did not flash but started fluttering and then I noticed the lock light on the wall unit started flashing. I reset that and tried reprograming the remotes. NG. I then tried programing the second remote with a fresh battery with the same result. Just for "fun" I pushed the SRT and that started to wall unit flashing again along with the SRT indicater fluttering. Any ideas ?
