| I pressed the button to activate the Liftmaster Professional 1/2 HP garage Door Opener and it makes a click and starts the motor then stops. I thought the door was stuck so I unhooked the chain and tried the button again and the gear turns 1/8 inch and stops. There is no safety electric eye 6in from the floor. I did find a small gray push button I assume is a reset and tried unplugging to reset. Anyone have any ideas on replacing parts or do I just have to repace the door opener?

| Take the cover off and check the drive gear. It is white nylon just in front of the motor. You may find it is stripped. |
