how to replace halicon gear

OOPS!! THAT SHOULD BE HELICAL GEAR
The drive gear has stripped in my "overhead door" brand garage door model # 556.
Can someone please tell me how to remove the gear ?
I have read manual , it says there are 2 cotter pins, I only see one hole with no pin in it.
I have the part and need help.

That should be Helical gear replacement
