Garage leak

I recently bought a house and it has a detached 2 car garage. I went in there after work today and noticed some water on the back wall on the floor. The back wall faces my yard and has never leaked before when it rain or anything...just recently after some snow melted...what can i do to prevent it from leaking in the future?

The first thing to do is figure out how the water got in in the first place.

Flowwed under the bottom plates?
Leaked from the roof?
Any windows?
Unheated buildings are not as prone to ice damming, but it can still happen if the sun melts the snow and the water runs down and freezes again.
