Where to buy an extra garage door remote

Posted by ike0069 (My Page) on

I have a Sears 1/2 HP opener with two working 3-button remotes. We now have a third vehicle and I would like to get a third remote, but a single buttong would be fine. What info do I need, and where is the best/easiest place to buy one.
Thanks.

Your best bet is to get the model number off your motor unit. It looks something like this. 139.XXXXXsrtX. Go to Sears.com or your local Sears store. I absolutely do not recommend e-bay.

Don, Just curious as to why you recommend NOT getting one from ebay?
I just bought one yesterday on Ebay so I haven't gotten it yet, but the seller says it is new in the package, so I'm hoping it works fine.

The fact that you are hoping it will work is the reason I recommend Sears and not e-bay.
