Above garage door storage

I need more storage in my garage. I have one of the hanging storage racks and like it. They are expensive, and I don't need the expandability because I want to store above my garage doors. Looking for ideas. One possibility is I have some heavy duty wire shelving, that I'm wondering if I could just make some frames from wood and lay these in there. I'll just be putting tote boxes, Xmas decorations, etc. up there.

how much ceiling height do you have above door? a friend has 11ft ceilings in his garage. he could put a huge storage area above the door. i say use the space you have.
