Help! Craftsman garage door remote and keypad problems

I am trying to fix my parents garage door problem and have to admit that I don't know much about it. They have two garage doors both powered by Sears Craftsman garage doors (one about 10 yo the other 6yo). The wireless keyless entry pads on both garage doors were failing in the cold weather and I tried to replace them with two Craftsman #53876 Keyless entry pads.

I replaced the first keypad, no problem. The second keypad, I programmed (I had to use a different pin or else it would open the first door) and it would open/close the door. The problem was that the remotes stopped working. I tried to reprogram the remotes and then they would work, but the keypads wouldn't.

How can I get this programmed so both the keypad and remotes work for this garage door opener? It's like they're operating on different frequencies. Also,
the keypad to the second door will open the first door if the first doors pin is put in. If anyone needs more info I am happy to provide it. Thanks!

There is a chance you got the wrong keypads for the openers. Did you buy from Sears? Take the model number off each motor unit and you can verify with Sears parts.
