How to remove the cover from a CRAFTSMAN garage door opener?

I found excellent instructions on how to replace the gear inside the garage door opener but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the COVER off the opener.

The instructions are very detailed but they all assume that you removed the cover (or know how to remove it).

Well, I removed the 4 screws, but the cover seems to be held by something else... It definitely cannot be pulled downward. What's the trick?

There are 2 screws on each side of the opener and 2 screws on each end.

@don_1_2006 Thank so much! Your tip worked for me.

(I can't believe I couldn't figure this out myself, duh!)
