I lost power and tried pulling the red cord to open my garage door. Then the power did come back on. I have a Craftsmen 1/2 hsp opener and don't know how to engage the track to the mechanism to open the door now. I moved into the house last year and the previous owners didn't give me the book on it. Help!!!

if it does not latch just by closing the door, then just hit the opener button, it will snap back into place as it comes up. at my house i have to do this on 1 door, the other GD will seat fully just by pulling the door down and i have not had time to readjust so that both close and relatch on their own.

If it is a newer model the latch locks in the open position. Pull straight down on the rope and release and then do as davidandkasie said.
