Trouble with Liftmaster Garage Door opener

My garage door opener just started giving me trouble. when I press the button it only opens a little and then it retracks. If the door is open it starts to close and then goes back up. Any ideas. I closed it manually and then it worked once and then it stopped again. The light flashes on for a few minutes and then it stops. Thanks Jimbo

Sounds like you have two problems. The door won't open problem is either a broken door spring or the drive gear is going bad. The door not closing sounds like your door sensor are misaligned.
