liftmaster garage door opener

I have a liftmaster garage door opener, about 5 years old. The temperature here, in Georgia, has been below freesinf for the past 3 days, and now the opener doesn't shut. It goes down till it is about a foot off the floor then goes back up, no flashing lights, indicating an obstruction. Door sensors are lit and steady. Can the temperature be affecting something on the opener? Do I need to adjust something? Please advise.

Release the door from the opener and operate it by hand to see if there is binding at the spot where it reverses. If the tracks have ever been greased you will need to clean it out. On the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find the 'down force' adjustment. Increase this just a bit and try.
