Do you have any photos of it before recovering? The fabric (if original) might help date it.

If it belonged to the poster's great great grandmother and the person is of marrying age, my guess would be that it must be older than 40 years. I know that the closest I came to being even alive at the same time as any of my great great grandparents was 6 years, and most of them had been dead for decades before that.

If great great grandmother lived to be 95 and bought the chair when she was 93, it would not be as old as you would guess.

I upolstered 2 of those. Mine were 1940's. If you have a closer pic of the legs? Is it mahogony?......then it might be older. And it's NOT a wingback chair....it's a channeled "fanback".

Channel back chairs have been around since the late 18th or early 19th century as a form--it's not just a 20th century form. I think they had a resurgence in popularity starting with the colonial revival period in the 1920s that corresponded with the 1926 Sesquicentennial. They look to be 1920s to 40s to me, without more information.
