We just bought a new DEEP pillow top mattress and box springs. Love the comfort -- but since it is about a foot higher than our nightstands it looks ridiculous. At first I thought we could just lower the bed frame -- but found we could lower it only about an inch, which is no help. We'd have to lay the mattress and box springs directly on the floor to make it look right and then there would be no way to keep the headboard and footboard together. My next thought is to raise the nightstands. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be used that wouldn't look totally riduculous? Our bedframe is about 20 years old. Are new bed frames sized that much different to accommodate the new thicker mattresses? Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to solve it? I knew the bed would be higher than our old one -- but I had no idea it would be this much higher.
