Jeffco is a really good manufacturer who improts their frames and then finishes and upholsters them. They have had som "quality of finish" issues over the past couple years. Century is known for their Chair program which is most likely the broadestand one of the highest quality in the industry. Henredon is "offshoring" or outsorcing most of thier work. Look at Hinkle Harris. They do not have the elaborate styles of Jeffco, Century and Henredon but they do provide a quality product.

Consider Henkel Harris, Waterford, Suter and Statton.

My suggestion would be to consult an interior designer such as Paul Godin. Not only can they help you find the best piece for your home, but also can work for you, by bargaining directly with the manufacturers on your behalf to get you the best possible deal.
