Here is my suggestion compared to your layouts. I would put the heater on the same wall as the window to combat any heat loss. Arrange the furniture so that it's promotes conversation and makes it easy for all to see the flatscreen. I have added an end table/lamp and location for a coffee table also.

Personally, I would never use a loveseat in a room. It doesn't provide enough flexibility if furniture needs to be rearranged.
