Has anyone had experience with the following companies? many require 1/2 up front and the rest before the furniture reaches your home.. this does not work for me.. I prefer to pay with a cashier's check or MO when I really get my stuff.. Knight furniture? High Point Sales Furniture, Hickory furniture, Wellingtons thanks !!

I only use a credit card for major purchases.

Using a credit card gives you some protection against unscrupulous merchants. If a merchant swindles you, the credit card company can dispute the purchase, and get your money back.

Also, don't believe these furniture dealers are giving you a DEEP discount on quality furniture. Most likely, they're selling junk. If they're legit, WHY do they need full payment before delivery??

Here is a link that might be useful: How to dispute a credit card bill with a merchant

I used High Point Furniture Sales twice, about 5 or 8 years apart. They were wonderful to deal with (this was actually way before everything was available on the web). I am not sure but I thought that I had used a credit card which does give piece of mind for sure. I was wondering if they wre still around. I can tell you that it was a great experience, and it saved lots of $$. If you need more info feel free to ask.

We purchased from Furnitureland South in NC several years ago. We paid 1/2 at time of order in their showroom and remaining balance at delivery. I don't find the NC furniture places to have the best prices (we live in NC, and never went back).
