| We have a 30" x 60" x 1.5" butcher block that we have been using for a desk top for the past 30 years. It looks like it was urethaned way back then but I vaguely remember that it was finished with tung oil so I don't know why it looks so shiny. In any event, we don't have any use for it in our new house and I was wondering if it could stand up to the heat and humidity of a Florida garage. DH thinks it could make a good workbench surface but I'm afraid it would warp or delaminate and I hate the idea of ruining such a good looking piece of wood. I'd rather give it away than ruin it. Do any of you have any thoughts on how well it would hold up in the garage? Thanks in advance. |
