Engraving on top tier

Others may disagree, but I think a 'hutch' usually refers to a cabinet with shelves but without doors. I think your furniture would be classified by most as a China Cabinet. The wide grain on the cabinet appears to be oak. That decorative accent on top is simply an applied, (glued on) accent that might simply be molded from wood shavings. Because of its small scale, maybe about 54' wide, the piece might be from the 60's or earlier when dining rooms in homes were smaller. I'm betting it is two pieces, so it wouldn't be hard to move if you really love this piece and want it in your new home.

The stain appears to be walnut. It's not a valuable piece of furniture, and I suspect will fetch less than $75 depending upon where you live and how you market it. If you Google 'Vintage China Cabinet', you'll see hundreds of images of china cabinets that might resemble yours that are for sale in on-line auctions. You'll need a much brighter picture, taken without a flash, to show the cabinet in it's best light if you plan to sell it on-line.
