Should I re-cover this couch?

I recently inherited this couch. Is it worth having it recovered? I can't find any tags on it. I'm pretty sure it was purchased at a decorator's showroom in NYC but I have no idea what the price was or anything. It's less than eight years old. How can I determine the quality of the piece? Thanks.

honestly? it seems like a lot of work (cushions, skirt) for not a lot of impact (it will be a different color, it will not have better proportioned arms)

Call a local reupholstery shop and they will inspect the sofa. They should remove the bottom dust cover for a through inspection. Ask questions: Is it a hardwood frame with double dowel construction, 8-way coil spring seat or sinuous wire, is the frame padded over well? Is their any movement in the arms.
Then compare the costs of re-upholstering to buying the same quality at retail, using the exact same fabric or leather.
