Hi all. We are considering a round dining table as our everyday eating table. We are a family of 7. Is there a general rule about how many people can fit around a certain diameter table? In other words, how big a table would we need to comfortably seat 8 people (room for 1 guest). 60"? 72"? Many thx.

Thx very much for that suggetsion. Just did it and to my surprise, question easily answered! Sometimes the glaringly obvious isn't that obvious (at least to me).

Choose your dining chairs first, then decide how large of a table you will need to arrange 8 chairs around the table.

According to my experience, if your plan is to have 8 people, go for the 60".
