We have an old pencil post style queen size bed. I think the sides of the bed must have bowed out over the years since a slat will fall out from time to time. This is not enough to cause the box springs and mattress to fall but we have to sort of lift everything and put the slat back in place to keep everything properly aligned. Is there anything that can be done about this problem? New longer slats? Supports in the middle of the existing slats? The old bed is beautiful and I'm not willing to give it up nor can I afford to replace it. Any suggestions?
