I'm shopping around for quality vintage furniture to replace my modern bedroom furniture as it's already falling apart. I came across a mahogany chest of drawers and dresser made by Baker in the 70's - 80's timeframe for $2k that is in great shape. I also found a Willett Wildwood Cherry model of dresser and chest of drawers made in the 60's that I like. The Willett set is around the same price but shows a little more wear (probably 15-20 yrs older though). Does anyone know the quality of those two manufacturers during the stated timeframes? I assume that the Willett furniture will hold its value better, seeing that they've been out of business since the 60's. Would love to hear your opinions on each.
