Repair Lloyd Flanders chair

Posted by jaz50y (My Page) on

I recently got a used set of Lloyd Flanders wicker, very nice but one of the chairs has a tear in the wire rush wicker (see pic), and all of them could use freshening with paint. So questions are:
1) Does anyone know to go about repairing such a tear? With natural wicker I guess it is easier, but I can't find any info on how to repair this type of wire-cored wicker.
2) Advice on paint type for painting? Again, the construction of the wrapped wire wicker is different, and it is hard to find info, except for the incredibly expensive Lloyd Flanders own brand.
