We're looking at two recliner choices for my husband - a Flexsteel and a LazyBoy, both in tan leather. Any input on the best choice? Thanks!

We have a reclining sofa by Flexsteel and it is built very well. I really don't think it will ever break. I have owned other brands that have broken with hard use. The fabric on ours is microfiber which is easy to clean and durable but it does change its sheen from new in the store to used in the home. The short knap, I believe, sort of lays over. This gives the sofa a more informal or worn look than what you may see in the showroom. I'm not sure if this is a Flexsteel fabric issue or an issue with all microfiber fabrics. My in-laws have new one person recliners from Flexsteel with a different type of cushion and fabric. I personally don't feel they are very comfortable. I'm sure the reclining mechanism is good though. Definitely try out the cushion and fabric combination of the model you want before buying.

Thanks so much. After much "practice" lounging in both the Lazy Boys and the Flexsteel recliners, my husband opted for the Flexsteel leather lounger and loves it. He had it delivered the same day and it's his new best friend (after me and the cats). It's good to hear from someone else that you're pleased with the product.

You will never, never, never wear out the Flexsteel even when you hate it so bad you want to scream.

I am also interested in Flexsteel. I have not priced the furniture but I have seen ads and read articles about it. Could anyone tell me are the prices of Flexsteel and Lazyboy similar or is one more expensive than the other?

Flexsteel was about $180 more then the Lazy Boy recliner, but we liked it a lot more. The leather is nicer, the controls smoother and quieter, and the style went better with our living room. Both seemed to be very good products. We really appreciate all the feedback folks have given us on the forum. |

Flexsteel will definitely not wear out. We bought a couch and loveseat a number of years ago and they still look and feel brand new.
