Painting an old 'Hollywood' Bedroom Set

Posted by celiaanne (My Page) on

I have an old bedroom set (1950s) that is the 'blonde' Hollywood furniture that was popular then. It is pretty plain and has what I would call 'clean lines.' I think a dark brown would make it look a little more modern.

I tried SW French Roast on one of the drawers, but I think it is too light. I would like a dark, dark brown.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dark color does give the impression of modern, like the dark brown color ...
Perhaps this bedroom furniture can provide inspiration for you:

Thanks, deeteha. I'm hoping for what I would call an espresso color, but so far I haven't found anything really dark.

Anyone else have a paint color recommendation (any brand is fine) for a REALLY dark brown?

Thank you.
