Hello, my son's play room doubles as our guest room and my mother in law can no longer stand sleeping on the futon pull-out we previously used.

We are planning to get the Brimnes daybed but she is requesting that we buy a higher quality twin mattresses instead of the Ikea brand.

My question is will this really work or will it end up extremely tall and potentially dangerous? Will we still be able to slide the bottom bed in fairly easily?

If the Ikea mattress is required, how do they compare in quality to a decent standard mattress?
