Electrical motors are reliable and easy enough for fix.

But you are getting something with more parts so yes, an electrical recliner MUST break more often than a manual recliner. Then again, the cushions in my recliner are giving up the ghost before the mechanism.

The biggest advantage is the soundness of how an electrical recliner moves. You can generally stop them in any position.

If the idea of a decade from now having to remove the motor from the bottom of your recliner and hauling it down to an alternator re-builder intimidates you don't get it. (Or you can make your son or daughter do it of course lol)

I have sold them to older folks who like their ease of use.
