leather protection

is all top grain leather aniline unprotected? IE,leather italia

In a sense; yes and no, the protection or finish is applied after the dying process. Aniline dyed leather is where the color penetrates all the way through the hide. Just about all furniture leather manufactures source leather that has some protection or finish applied.
