I am contemplating mughal-style copper furniture (two chairs and a couch).
The copper is thin sheet beaten over wood with tree and floral workings, plus two lion-headed armrests on each piece.

The setting come from India and is not more than 50 years old, modelled on antique pieces. I love the set, but my husband says they will turn verdigris, or produce toxic fungus to sit on. Is this true?
The set will be housed in sub-tropical conditions which adds to his concern.
I was really looking forward to owning the handsome pieces and shining them up. Now I am not so sure.
Any advice please? Thanks!
