Help understanding quality of these sofas

We sold off our sofa and are redecorating. The space the sofa is going into is 182" long and 104" wide. The room is rather awkward, so the best setup is to have a sofa the "wide" way facing the TV on the only solid wall in the room.

I found three sofas I really like. One is from Value City, one is from Ashley, and the other from Raymour and Flannigan. I am reading conflicting things about the quality of the sofas. The VC sofa was certainly the nicest there, but I fear it's way too big for the space.

Which one would be the best value? We are a young couple, occasionally entertain, no children, and a cat who is not permitted on the furniture.

I suppose we could flip the floorplan, but that would require putting the TV in front of a window. The window view is the side of the nextdoor neighbor's house, so maybe that would be ok?

Can you tell me who makes the sofas other than the Ashley one.

Sorry, I fixed the links above.

The Raymour is made by HM Richards and the VC one I have no idea. It doesn't say on the website, but it's called "Omnia Lagoon". I googled "Omnia" and only a leather sofa company pulled up.

Really the brand isn't that important other than to give you a clue at the construction.

I think what you should do is go back and look at each of these and find out something about how they are built.

Most likley they have plywood frames and no sag springs. When you think about it a typical sofa last 5-7 years you might be better off spending $2000 for a sofa that might last for many years rather than $700 to $1000 for a sofa that might not last that long.

That's not to say the sofas you looked at aren't worth considering. Everyone can't afford Hancock and Moore or Vanguard for example. Remember when you buy furniture or for that matter anything else you have to consider the price/value relationship of the purchase.

Not a fan of Ashley. Definitely in the bottom quartile, maybe decile of quality.

Agree of value proposition, TCO - total cost of ownership.

a $700 sofa that looks bad in 18 months and is shot in 3-4 years or a $2000-2500 sofa that you can hand down to your grandkids?

Tailoring wise I think the Raymour Flannigan sofa looks best, but I would venture to say they are all contructed in the same manner and would probably last the same amount of time. The Raymour sofa is also the most costly at $899.
