Should I order a footboard for a double bed in the guest room?

We have lived in this house for 12 years.... we might have overnight guests 2 maybe 3 times a year, have yet to purchase a head and footboard, but have finally made up my mind to purchase LLBean's cottage bed. I would like to order the footboard. Is a double bed too short for this? I also have 2 twin beds in another bedroom if someone had a problem. I like the quilt, sheets, etc, I currently use, so I do not think I want to move up to a queen.

Hello, if your overnight guests are tall fellows like myself I would vote for no footboard or a very low profile footboard.

I am 6'4" and find a full size bed (54" x 74") acceptable for guest rooms.

Another vote for NO footboard!
