Assuming you like the look and the way each sofa sits you should in my opinion gets some information on the construction of each sofa. From my own investigation McCreary Modern seems to just sell large retailers such as Macy's or Arhuas whereas Bassett sells to Bassett galleries and independent retailers. It may be that as Bassett is more available there may be more pricing competition on the other hand as McCreary Modern is selling just to large retailers they may need to have sharp prices to sell them. Examine the type of frame each company uses and the type of spring construction and the type of cushion they use and are there cushion options. Examine the tailoring of each piece. Become an informed consumer and don't base you decision on the casual observer or an experience that one person may have had with their purchase be in good or bad.
