Thanks! It is indeed Lychnis viscaria, or Sticky Catchfly. I forgot to mention how sticky then flowering stems are. From wikipedia: Lychnis viscaria is said to increase the disease resistance of surrounding plants. Extract from Lychnis viscaria contains a relatively high amount of brassinosteroids, which have a proven positive effect on the growth of other plants. In Germany the extract is allowed for use as a "plant strengthening substance." Love this forum, and appreciate the lead!

You've selected some beautiful, healthy, almost always in bloom roses! They both stay fairly small; Dame de Coeur grew to about 3 1/2 ft. for me. I just measured my 3 yr old never pruned Julia Child at 28 inches.

Fragrance!!!!???? My Grande Dame is holding out on me!! I love Grande Dame - but if it had fragrance too - wow!!!! Maybe the fragrance will come in next year. Your bouquets are perfection!! You really showcase what a splendid rose this is. Carol
