I have something different point of view as you know your place better than others so better have a look at your existing interior then decide what type of floor you need, wooden and tiled floor are easy to clean and care with different quality just before a market visit I recommend you to visit some site who are supplier of tiles and wooden floor like tile supply or floor supply.

In our basement we have Johnson Santos Mahogany engineered hardwood. Johnson's real wood top layer is (not sure if still) much thicker than the completion and can be refinished multiple times. We chose Santos Mahogany as it holds up well to radiant heat. We don't run our boiler very often but it is beautiful 5 plus years later.

I suppose that the engineered floor is better for radiant as it has a stable substrate. Plenty of homes have been done successfully with full dimension 3/4" lumber as well. Are you doing staple up, underlayment for the radiant. I used Uponor QuikTrak in my last home. The pros I've spoken with are big on the Warmboard product as well.

I just put down 3/4" white oak in our new kitchen. I prefer the look. Engineered flooring has the chamfered edge that is just a dust/dirt collector to me. Narrow widths are More stable.
