Shaw and Anderson are the same company. Like Ford and Lincoln. Same. There's going to be variation in the hand scraping from plank to plank. There will be variation in color tone and grain pattern as well. You open several boxes at once and lay them randomly to get that variation mixed around.

We'll check it against the floor sample, but when I pulled 4 pieces out and laid them out, the hand scraped look was more evident, so it probably is the right stuff.

Two guys came out to remove the old flooring and glue. They just left and will come back tomorrow to install. Is it acceptable to have some glue remaining on the slab? The Shaw website says subfloors must be clean and free of dirt, curing compounds, sealers, drywall mud, paint, wax, grease, urethane, or other materials that may affect the integrity of the flooring material or adhesives used to install the flooring.

I don't know if that means it has to be free of everything, or just everything (loose or uneven) that would affect the adhesion of the new floor.

Yes, I'm probably overthinking, overworrying, but our last floor didn't turn out well and I don't want that to happen this time.
