I am looking for some confirmation/insight into whole house hardwood flooring (minus a few areas). I was wondering if there was a rule of thumb to limits of splines in an installation. Also, I have been debating about where to start the installation. If the center of the house through a transition shoudl be used to lay the flooring or if one of the far walls woud be a better solution using reference lines to measure to the outer wall to start the flooring. This woudl reduce the need for a spline but woudl also leave more room for a tolerance stackup as I work my way across the floor? Any opinions or insight would be most appreciated.
