Flooring question

I would love to pull up the carpet in our house and put in wood floors, here is my problem. Our house was built in the 70's, therefore it has very dark woodwork, cabinets, baseboards, doors etc..a few years ago we replaced the windows in the house, we used the darkest color they had available for the new trim and sills, but it doesn't match the existing woodwork, now - how do I decide what color to put on the floors? I've always heard that you shouldn't have to many wood tones going on, so what do I do? Help!

Put in something that's complementary to your trim and furniture. It doesn't need to match but you should take care to avoid colors that clash. No disrespect intended, but if color picking isn't your thing ask a pro to look and make suggestions.

Have you thought about painting your trim?

Its a cheap solution to give your house a fresh feel. doing this also allows you to choose a floor color that YOU want, and not necessarily one that would fit your house.

Its a bit tedious if you choose to do this yourself, but it can really make a difference.
