I am back to trying to find a floor for the new house and would love some insight please. I need 1700 sf of a wide handscraped dark flooring and love a pillow edge and a some shine. I found a perfect match at HD but am not comfortable buying there as they were upfront with me that they were unlikely to stand behind the product if they didn't install it.

I wanted to buy locally as we have purchased eyerything for our house within a 25 mile radius from home- but being in such a rural area, all the stores have the same lines from the same distributer and other than an Ark China product and some Somerset which I was not in love with because it was so dull and the bevel edge looked more like a groove. There's not a lot to choose from or see "in person". I must stay in the $6.00 per sf price range.

I am about 4.5 hours away from Hoskings and am not opposed to traveling there with our equiptment trailer to pick up wood, but am at a loss as to what might be a good choice.

I love walnut, maple, and last choice is oak. Thank you so much.
