What tile/stone + hardwood to complement each other?

Hello,

First time poster, though been lurking around for a bit and found many threads to be useful.

First time home owner as well, who will be redoing the entire flooring of her home (small SFH Current plan for flooring:
(a) Entryway + bathroom + kitchen + stair riser = tile or stone
(b) Living room + dining room + bedroom + stair tread = hardwood

======================================

For (a), i would like to only use one same material throughout for uniformity (and give the illusion of bigger space), instead of 2 or 3 different types. At the moment, one of the things i am attracted to is the colors of Tuscany Ivory travertine tile (yep, aware that this require sealing, maintenance etc). The thing is, i am aware there's a gradation in quality for such travertine tiles. since this style is sold at box shop, i presume the quality for this particular one is not the highest

for (b), i am trying to find a hardwood that can match up to the color of flooring for (a). The thing is, i dont like dark color wood in general (i feel it will make the house look smaller and "cave-like") and from all photos i see online, travertine seem almost always matched up with darker color woods. For me, i prefer lighter color or medium color wood and am looking to have more cozy look and feeling in the home. I found this picture online https://www.houzz.com/photos/kitchen-traditional-kitchen-sacramento-phvw-vp~1484455-traditional-kitchen-sacramento and the colors of cabinets and flooring seem to match well. So if i can find a wood color similar to cabinet color then maybe it can work? or perhaps i have to change my plan for (a)....

for more context -
(i) the kitchen cabinets in the home are Shaker Oak (Light) series now http://www.gsbuildingsupply.com/products/cabinets/oak-cabinet Not exactly my favorite color, but since i dont plan to swap it out, thus i am stuck with it and need to figure out flooring for (a) and (b) that wont clash too much with it.
(ii) the granite countertop is tan brown dark color
(iii) i have attached some photos for show here

any advice from anyone? thank you very much in advance.
