Worried about gaps between ends of flooring installation

Linda

The installers are half-way done installing 900 sf of my engineered hardwood (Forest Accents Crafted Textures sunrise birch), glued down to the slab (in South Carolina). The tongue & grove edges are tight along the long ends of the 5" wide planks, but there appear to be GAPS along the short ends - some so large that can see the white tongue/groove slats and slip several thicknesses of paper down between them. In addition to appearance, I am especially concerned that if liquid spills into the cracks, it will cause problems. There are expansion gaps at the wall ends (although some of the runs are quite long). Is there a valid reason for these gaps, or should I be worried? What is the solution? Thanks in advance for your help!
