I would leave out the boards with end gaps and contact your supplier to see if they are willing to cover the loss. Please remember to send in some pictures showing the concerned boards along your claim. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. The problem does not seem to be with the wood, but my concern is that it is with the installation. I CAN fit the boards completely flush up against one another, but there are several places where the installers have not done so. I can get a pad of 13 sheets of a Post It Note pad between one!! The Installers will be back today, and my concern is that they are going to say that it is "ok", and "needed" for expansion, etc. I wanted to be informed so that I can discuss with him beforehand.

It is not needed for expansion and you need to ask them why there are end gaps. There ought to be no gaps more than the thickness of a credit card. If the gaps are the thickness of a credit card or less, than you may have an acceptable installation.

Is this wood solid or engineered?

Thanks for your responses. It is engineered wood. Most are the thickness of a credit card or less, so I guess it is acceptable. What made it worse, was there was no stain on the tongue/groove portion that was visible through the crack. However, the installers filled with putty and/or stain-stick and seemed to take care of it. They also explained that it was within allowances.
