I have Mercier solid Brazilian cherry and I've been very unhappy with it.Over 3 Dozen of the boards have cracked and the finish over the cracks have turned white and some are peeling. I contacted Mercier and one of their Reps came out to look at it and said what I'm having is called checking and it's a normal happening in wood flooring. I don't know anyone else with wood flooring that has had this problem. I spent several thousands of dollars for this flooring and Mercier offered me $150 to have some of the boards pulled out and replaced. No one wants to touch my floor because of how bad it is, too many boards are damaged and $150 doesn't cover the cost of the wood to replace the damaged ones.

Mercier Co. has been awful to deal with. My sister was about to buy a Mercier floor also and I reminder her that that's the manufacturer of my floor. She decided to go with Lauzon instead.

My floor is 3 years old so maybe Mercier has corrected whatever was wrong with their manufacturing problems, but I wouldn't take the chance on them again. JMHO.

I was doing a search on Mercier floors and found this post. Any updates. I am so sorry that you had to go through this jacquie but thanks for warning us.

We have had Mercier Pro in Gunstock for 6 months and are very happy with it. No problems so far - fingers crossed.

Jackie1962, thank you for the warning. I am going to stay with Triangulo engineered wood in the 3.25" width in the Brazilian Cherry Species. I had looked at Mercier and now I am glad I did not choose that wood.

stay away from Mercier flooring -- its splits and dents easily.
