I have a Dyson and have had no problems with it on my floors. I think any vacuum with a soft floor attachment would work fine.

Roomba! Gentle yet effective! And better still, you can be doing whatever you want while it does the work.

arthomesewing, I did own a Roomba when we lived in our other house, which was all carpeting. I loved it. However, I've read reviews saying that the Roomba scratches hardwood floors. So I'm not convinced it is a good vacuum for hardwood.

I have used a kirby and my back hurt for two days after using it on my stairs!
