| Hello,
I have gotten a lot of help on my other thread regarding my sister's floors. Now, my husband tells me that he thinks her floors are too busy. I have attached pics of a floor he really likes. It is 5 inch red oak quarter sawn. We would get 3 1/4" width. Does anyone know what color stain we need to consider to get the look? Do you think we can get the same color using white oak instead of red oak? Also, do you think part of the appeal is that its quarter sawn or that a similar color on regular oak would give the same effect (I realize the last question is very subjective). thanks for any help--I am driving everyone crazy--including myself !
