Gaps in Engineered Flooring

We just moved into our new construction house and after a couple of days I started noticing gaps between our engineered floor. The product we have installed is Bruce EEL5202 and it was nailed down. We are already working with the builder to get some boards replaced because they were badly scratched before we moved in but now I'm wondering if the install was done incorrectly as well.

Is it normal to have gaps between boards? There are probably a couple of dozen gaps, some big enough to fit a credit card into and some slightly smaller. I don't know if they were there already and I just didn't notice them or if they have just started appearing (shrinking boards maybe)? They did cut out and glue/nail three replacement boards so we could see what that would look like before fixing all of the scratches so it is possible the floor started shifting from that?
