Run the flooring the way you will like it.

My opinion based on your sketch is this:

1. If you want it all run in same direction, then front to back. I think that would look best all around.

2. If you want the flooring to run the length of the living room, then do that, but still run the rest of it front to back.

3. Have the contractor...or yourself...dry lay some of the floor to give you a visual clue of how the installed floor might look.

This is a rare occasion I disagree with glennsfc. I would run it all left to right. In either the living room or hall it will carry your eye into the room and make each look wider. It will make the family room look deeper. Running it all the same way will aid a look of continuity even though the three areas are separated by the foyer.
When there's a debate about floor direction I encourage the customer to lay out a box of material in the doorways in either direction to gauge the look.
