Can Brazilian Cherry Floors Be Stained Espresso?

I have a 3 year old condo with a potential buyer who wants the floors to be a darker espresso brown color rather than the current reddish brown color that they are. B/c floors are going to be re-sanded and re-stained anyway, she asked whether they can be stained darker to achieve more of an espresso color. Does anyone know? My concern was that even once we remove the current stain,that the base color of the cherry is probably reddish (unlike oak or other lighter woods) and so it wouldn't be possible to achieve a more chocolate brown color. Any info (especially from anyone who has done this) and tips would be appreciated! And if it can be done, I'd love to know brand and name of stain. Thanks.

Brazilian Cherry Wide Plank Floors stained Ebony for you to look at and show your potential buyer. I am sorry that I never stained hardwood floors before but I know it can be done and I did read that you can stain Brazilian Cherry floors. I am not sure of the stain color used in this picture.

A dark jatoba or espresso stain will take BC to a chocolate color.

Do you know what flooring you have? If engineered with a thin veneer, proceed with caution.

And obviously you're doing this for a potential buyer, so you might just want to offer them a credit on the purchase price and let the buyer deal with the refinishing of the floors. You never know if they'll balk at the new color or back out of the deal, etc.
