grade of engineered wood ?

I have been shopping for engineered wood floors. I would like a Natural Maple with very little variation between the planks. I like a very modern look.

The brands I have seen do not give me a grade. They don't seem to specify "clear" grade. The salespeople say they cannot guarantee that there won't be any planks which are much darker or with knots in the lot.
I found one brand, Mirage, which has a "select and better" grade but unfortunately it does not come in 5" planks.

Any ideas as to how I can select engineered wood where the planks give a fairly uniform look ? I am surprised that grade is not seen as very important.
Thank you for any input or advice.
