Recently bought a house built in the mid 40's with red quarry tile throughout, except the kitchen. We are renovating the kitchen and want to match the rest of the tile, as there is an open doorway. We have found a close match (it's the common red clay tile, 6x6) but what's available is slightly lighter and brighter, but it's a perfect match if I wet it. The new tiles will need to be sealed, so my question is, will the sealer darken the tiles similar to water? If not, is there some sort of a stain or product that will do this?
